World War II Days, Rockford, IL

World War II Days includes elaborate and realistic battles complete with tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, and exciting pyrotechnic displays. Saturday the battle shows are featured at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Sunday the battle time is 2:30 pm.

The popular World War II Days returns this year and promises to be bigger and better than ever!  With more than 1,000 re-enactors representing the soldiers of the United States, Great Britain, France, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Italy and Japan.  In addition to the action on the battlefields, enjoy the skirmishes in the Village, demonstrations and displays in the buildings, woods encampments and the ambiance of the beautiful venue.

Maps of the event site will be available when visitors arrive showcasing the battlefield and the various encampments and attractions. Everything we offer will be held rain or shine.

 

Visitors will also experience:

  • Elaborate 1940s displays in historical buildings on the museum property acting as the back drop of a European village during World War II
  • Encampments of Allied and Axis troops in the Midway Village woods and realistic skirmishes integrated in the historic village
  • Pacific Theater battles in the woods with soldiers dressed as U.S. Marines and Japanese infantry
  • German cavalry scenes
  • Soldiers’ base camps filled with period vehicles, tents and artifacts
  • Shop for World War II memorabilia from numerous vendors
  • Expanded food service including Burritt’s Meat Products of Rockford
  • A  1940s era USO-style swing dance 7 pm, Saturday at Veterans Memorial Hall.  Dance to the sounds of Moonlight Jazz Orchestra.

This is the largest World War II era re-enactment in the United States with over 1,000 uniformed re-enactors from 40 states representing soldiers from the United States, Great Britain, France, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Japan, Italy and Germany along with 70 to 80 vintage tanks, halftracks and other 1940s era military vehicles!

Brickmania Track Links Progress Report: First Test Runs Made!

We’re happy to report our tool maker has done what others said could not be done! Yesterday morning we received our first test runs of actual Brickmania Track Links and we absolutely love them! The tool maker is going to continue testing and refinement work on the molds over the next couple of weeks. We do not have an exact date on when full scale production will start, but we’re on the home stretch now, and just mere weeks before mass quantities will be in our possession.  The nice thing is our production facility is just a few hours away, so we’ll be able to receive the parts from the factory without any shipping delays. Stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, check out the photos of some of our vehicles with the new Brickmania Track Links installed…

Re-vamped Panzer IV Ausf G Kit & Custom Panzer Commander Minifig

Brickmania is pleased to release a new version of the Panzer IV Ausf G —a total remake of Dan’s Panzer IV Ausf G kit originally released in 2009. The main improvements include a new hull, track geometry and turret, which are all redesigned to give more accurate scale representation. Other minor improvements were made to take advantage of the release of newer elements from LEGO and BrickArms. The Panzer IV was the most produced Axis tank during World War II and this long-gunnned version is ideal for all mid to late war dioramas. Panzer IV

The new Panzer IV has all the playability of the original kit, including a fully rotating turret, posable main gun, and three opening hatches.

Panzer Commander

To coincide with the new Panzer IV kit, Brickmania has produced our own custom-designed Panzer Commander mini figure. One of these figures is included in the kit, but we are also selling them individually for those interested in filling out the ranks of their Panzertruppen.

Brickmania Elite is an exclusive builders club and discount program for Brickmania supporters and history buffs. Membership is good for one calendar year, starting on January 1st, with annual renewals offered at a discount rate. Membership benefits include, but are not limited to, the list below.

Your membership card must be shown to receive your 10% discount at events and Brickmania Toyworks Open House. You must have a be a a register account at Brickmania.com and signed in to see discounted prices. If you do not have an account, one will be assigned to the email used to place the order. Some coupons and special offers may work in combination with your web discount for additional savings. We encourage (but do not require) wearing your Brickmania Elite T-shirt during group activities. We may ask ask to see your membership card to participate in some activities. M2A4 Light Tank

We have another production run of M2A4 Light Tank kits hot of the assembly line. The M2A4 was the precursor to what was later standardized as the M3 Stuart light tank. The US Marines were the only Allied forces to be equipped with the M2A4 in combat, seeing action during the Gaudalcanal campaign. This is the first kit in our 2014 Battle of the Bulge theme. A preview batch of 50 kits will be released exclusively at Brickmania.com and no others will be available until 2014. Includes a German soldier custom pad-printed by Citizen Brick.

Dozer

Our second in a pair of US Navy Seabees bulldozer kits, this time based on the Caterpillar D8 tractor with a LeTourneau cable blade. This is a much bigger and beefier tractor to back up the M1 Light Tractor released a short while ago. Includes a custom pad-printed Seabee minifig from Brickmania.

We also have three new holiday ornaments of which only 25 copies of each will be available on the web site:
